How to Support a Creator

Supporting a creator on iKofi is simple. No account needed. Just pick a coffee and pay.

Step by Step

1. Find a Creator

• Browse the creator directory
• Visit a creator's page via their URL: ikofi.co.za/@theirhandle
• Scan a QR code from their Marketing Pack

2. Pick a Coffee

Choose from preset tiers or enter your own amount:

Minimum tip: R5

3. Pay

Click Continue to Payment. You'll be taken to Paystack's secure checkout.

Payment methods:

• Card (Visa, Mastercard)
• Bank transfer

Currency: South African rands (ZAR) only.

4. Done

Your payment is processed instantly. The creator receives 95% of your tip directly in their bank account.

No Account Required

You don't need to create an account to tip a creator. Just:

1. Visit their page
2. Pick a coffee
3. Pay via Paystack

That's it.

What You Get

• Dashboard — See all the creators you've supported

How to Create an Account

1. Go to ikofi.co.za
2. Click Join as Supporter
3. Fill in your name, email, and password
4. Start supporting creators

Your Public Profile

If you create an account and opt in, you get a public profile at:

ikofi.co.za/supporter/your-name

Your profile shows:

• Display name
• Avatar
• Bio (up to 200 characters)
• Social links (up to 5)
• Gallery (up to 2 images)
• Creators you've supported

You can toggle your profile on or off from your settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I tip anonymously?

Your name won't be shown publicly unless you have a supporter account and opt in. The creator will see that someone tipped them, but your identity is private unless you choose to share it.

Can I leave a message?

Currently, tips don't include a message field. You can leave a comment on the creator's social media or contact them directly.

Can I get a receipt?

Paystack sends a payment confirmation email after each tip. This serves as your receipt.

Can I tip in another currency?

No. iKofi only supports South African rands (ZAR). All payments are processed in ZAR.

What if I change my mind?

Tips are final. If you have an issue, contact issues@ikofi.co.za.

How do I know the creator received my tip?

You'll receive a confirmation email from Paystack. The creator receives 95% of your tip directly in their bank account through Paystack's settlement process.
