1. Introduction
This manual is published in compliance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). PAIA gives every person the right to request access to records held by a private body, where such access is required for the exercise or protection of any rights.

3. The Information Regulator
Complaints regarding the processing of personal information or the handling of PAIA requests may be directed to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

4. Records Available Without a Formal PAIA Request
The following records are publicly available on the iKofi website and do not require a formal request:
- Privacy Policy
- Creator Eligibility & Trust and Safety Policy
- This PAIA Manual
5. Records That May Be Requested
The following categories of records are held by iKofi and may be requested subject to the grounds for refusal set out in PAIA:
- Creator records — registration info (name, email, profile details), verification flags (confirmation that identity and bank docs were received and deleted), account status logs.
- Transaction records — transaction logs associated with a creator's account. Note: iKofi does not hold payment or banking transaction data. All financial transaction records are held by Paystack and must be requested directly from Paystack.
- Correspondence records — Trust and Safety reports and related correspondence, account notifications.
- Platform records — general platform operational records.
6. Records That Will Not Be Released
- Records containing personal information of a third party, unless that third party consents or the requester demonstrates a legal right.
- Records subject to legal privilege.
- Records the disclosure of which would prejudice the safety of any person.
- Records relating to ongoing Trust and Safety investigations.
- Any records where refusal is permitted under PAIA.
7. How to Submit a PAIA Request
Requests must be submitted in writing to the Information Officer at issues@ikofi.co.za. Your request must include:
- Your full name and contact details
- A description of the record you are requesting
- The right you are seeking to exercise or protect, and why access is required for that purpose
- Your preferred format (electronic or print)
- If requesting records relating to a third party: proof of consent or legal basis
8. Processing of Requests & Fees
iKofi will acknowledge receipt and respond within 30 days as required by PAIA. Extensions may apply with notice. iKofi currently waives all fees for straightforward personal information requests. Where a request requires significant effort, a fee may be applicable — you will be notified before any fee is charged.
9. Remedies
If your PAIA request is refused, you may:
- Apply to the Information Regulator for relief
- Apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for access to the records
