Terms of Service Summary

What iKofi Is

iKofi is a South African platform that connects creators with supporters. Supporters tip creators using South African rands through Paystack.

Who Can Use iKofi

Creators

• Must be 18 or older
• Must have a South African bank account
• Must provide accurate information
• One account per person

Supporters

• Must be 18 or older
• No account required to tip
• Optional free account available

Advertisers

• Accounts created by iKofi admin
• Must provide accurate business information
• Some accounts are gifted for a limited time

Your Account

• You're responsible for your account security
• Don't share your password
• Notify us immediately if your account is compromised
• We can suspend accounts that violate our terms

Payments

For Supporters

• Tips are final — no refunds
• Payment processed by Paystack
• You agree to Paystack's terms when paying
• Minimum tip: R5

For Creators

• You receive 95% of each tip
• iKofi keeps 5% as the platform fee
• Payment settled by Paystack to your linked bank account
• You're responsible for your own tax obligations

For Advertisers

• Gifted accounts have an expiry date
• You must set up payment before expiry to continue
• Standard accounts may incur fees (contact us for details)

Your Content

What You Upload

• You own your content (photos, text, gallery images)
• You grant iKofi a license to display your content on the platform
• You can remove your content at any time

What We Can Do

• We may remove content that violates our terms
• We may use your content for marketing (with your permission)
• We're not responsible for content you upload

No Begging — Absolute Zero Tolerance

iKofi does not, will not, and will never support or endorse begging. The platform will never be associated with begging in any form.

iKofi rewards value exchanged — craft, skill, art, performance, product, service or content. It is not a channel for soliciting charity, alms or personal financial help.

Using your profile, bio, tip page or marketing pack to plead for personal help (rent, school fees, food, medical bills, "anything helps", and equivalents) is strictly prohibited.

Enforcement is immediate and permanent:

• First confirmed report → account, profile, page, handle and content are deleted
• Permanent ban — no return under any identity or business
• Pending funds are forfeited
• No warning, no right of reply, no appeal

Prohibited Behaviour

Don't:

• Beg, solicit alms, or ask for personal financial handouts (see above — instant ban)
• Use iKofi for illegal activities
• Harass or abuse other users
• Upload harmful, offensive, or misleading content
• Try to hack or exploit the platform
• Create fake accounts
• Spam other users
• Infringe on intellectual property rights

Intellectual Property

• iKofi's name, logo, and design are our property
• You can't use our branding without permission
• Your content remains yours
• We respect copyright — report infringement to issues@ikofi.co.za

Limitation of Liability

• iKofi is provided "as is"
• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our liability is limited to the fees you've paid us (which is zero for most users)
• We're not responsible for payment processing issues (Paystack handles that)

Changes to Terms

• We may update these terms
• We'll notify you of significant changes
• Continued use means you accept the changes

Termination

• You can delete your account at any time
• We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate our terms
• Some provisions survive termination (liability, intellectual property)

Governing Law

These terms are governed by South African law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
